Emily North (she/her) is the Senior Administrative Assistant in the Department of Music. In this role, Emily maintains the official operations of the Music Department office for faculty, staff, and students. These responsibilities include:

1. Coordination and scheduling of special events in Presser Hall and coordination of facilities management.
2. Secretary/Receptionist.
3. Budgetary.
4. Desktop publishing of publicity and program materials.
5. Keeping student attendance records of departmental events. Management of Presser Music building including special event scheduling and coordination of facilities maintenance.
6. Supervising applied music registration.
7. Supervising of departmental labor staff, especially monitors and janitors, including student payroll.
8. Use software knowledge to trouble-shoot for faculty and staff.

Emily graduated from Berea College in 2019 with a B.A. in Education Studies and a minor in Music. She served as a middle school mentor with AmeriCorps' Boys and Girls Club in Hobe Sound, Florida. Returning to Berea in 2021, Emily served as an assistant and then lead teacher at the Child Development Laboratory. She now has the pleasure of directly supporting the educators and institution she cares so deeply for. Emily will be pursuing a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration beginning in August 2024 with hopes of giving back to the education community and furthering the commitments Berea College has made to developing students of great need and promise.
