Geology Program

Geology was one of the core science programs at Berea College for many years but with the retirement of the last professor in 2003, the program went on hiatus. In 2018, the Geology Program was brought back to Berea College with the hiring of Dr. Suzanne Birner. She teaches courses in introductory geology, mineralogy, petrology, geographic information systems, and more. The program offers a minor in Geology, and we also host fun on- and off-campus activities, such as movie nights, hikes, and trips to local gem and mineral shows.
