Lois Scott has been the friendly face of the Individual and Planned Philanthropy Office since 2017. If you call the Alumni, Communications and Philanthropy 800 line, you will likely have the pleasure of speaking with Lois. In her role as Administrative Assistant, she keeps the office running smoothly and loves welcoming visitors. She also supervises and mentors the office’s student workers.
A native of Lorain County, OH, Lois graduated from Mount Union College with a B.S. in mathematics and computer science. Prior to working at Berea, Lois spent several years in the human resources industry. She is a proud member of Berea’s Elizabeth Culbreth Society, which recognizes her consistent financial support.
Lois is married to her high school sweetheart, Jim Scott. They are very proud of their three children: Brittany, a Bellarmine University graduate with her own princess party company and a corporate event planner; Austin, an Army R.O.T.C. cadet, and drilling reservist studying aviation at Eastern Kentucky University; and Zachary, a future pharmacist enrolled as a junior student at Berea College. In her leisure time, Lois enjoys swimming, S.C.U.B.A. diving while cruising, and promoting the benefits of wellness and fitness. Lois and her mother enjoy a friendly competition of regularly donating platelets.
