Chris Schill ’97, MBA, CFRE serves as the Executive Director of Alumni Philanthropy. He was raised in the mountains of West Virginia and Virginia and graduated from Berea College in 1997 with a B.A. in psychology. Chris was an athlete in both collegiate and intramural sports. His student labor positions included being a bellhop and server at the historic Boone Tavern Hotel and Restaurant, a woodcraftsman at Student Craft, and the student orientation director in the Student Life Department.
Chris is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps; while serving, he completed his MBA at Boston University in 2001. He rejoined the Alumni, Individual and Planned Philanthropy team at Berea College in 2017 and has more than 22 years of prior experience in health care and higher education philanthropy. He is a proud member of the Second Century Club, the Elizabeth Culbreth Society, and the Great Commitments Society.
Chris is married to another Berea College graduate, Heather McNew Schill ’99, and they have two children, Caroline and Jackson. Chris and Heather are very active in the community. Chris serves as an elder of a local church and is a head coach for both youth baseball and basketball.
