Bio

Colby Lilly, a native Berean whose family has lived in the area for at least five generations, joins Brushy Fork Leadership Institute as a Program Coordinator. With experience in non-profit community development, fundraising, investment, and grassroots organizing, Colby is excited to utilize his skillset in the design and delivery of programs to advance leadership and community development efforts in Central Appalachia. Values of justice and equity are at the core of his volunteer work, which spans LGBTQ+ advocacy, racial justice, food security, and anti-war activism. He is passionate about dismantling existing power structures in order to restore power to everyday Americans, thereby strengthening democratic institutions. A true gourmand, he enjoys gardening, cooking, and eating well. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, and watching historical documentaries.
