Black Student Union (BSU)

BSU serves as a welcoming leadership body for African American students. The students of BSU plan and coordinate educational, cultural and social events for the benefit of all Berea College students. Membership is open to all students interested in promoting the purpose of the organization. Dues are $5.00.

Sisterhood of Queens United Among the Diaspora (S.Q.U.A.D.)

S.Q.U.A.D. creates a supportive and empowering space for young women on campus, fostering inclusion, self-confidence, and celebration of their identities. This mentorship program focuses on key principles such as self-love, authenticity, resilience, respect, and camaraderie to help participants successfully navigate Berea College and prepare for life after graduation. Through resources and skill-building, S.Q.U.A.D. promotes academic, professional, emotional, and mental well-being. The group meets twice a month, with 20–25 students regularly attending these bi-weekly sessions.

Intercultural Understanding and Awareness

This group meets monthly to gain greater cultural awareness and understanding. Meetings are usually held in the Black Cultural Center.
