True Racial Understanding Through Honest Talks (T.R.U.T.H Talks)
True Racial Understanding through Honest Talks are collaborative programs conducted in conjunction with the Black Cultural Center, Campus Life, other Berea faculty, staff and student organizations.
A hallmark feature of the Talks include students, faculty and staff being invited to use interactive technology to assist in retaining their anonymity when asking questions. Talk topics have ranged from the need to create LGBTQIA (Lesbians Gay Bisexual Transsexual Questioning Intersex and Asexual) Safe Zones on campus to open dialogue about the Trayvon Martin shooting and trial. A discussion question entitled, “Questions You Want to Ask Another Race” has retained the highest attendance to date.
