Sloane Shelton Grant

The Sloane Shelton Independent Arts and Humanities Grant provides generous funding to support Berea students pursuing transformative and immersive off-campus summer experiences in the arts and humanities. The deadline for Summer 2025 applications is December 1, 2024 by 11:59 pm.

Grants may be used to pursue special learning opportunities such as special courses, seminars, workshops, and residency programs, as well as internships approved by the Office of Internships. Grants generally range between $5,000 and $15,000 for opportunities with a minimum duration of four weeks and a maximum duration of three months. These opportunities must occur during the summer of 2025 (that is, between May 5th and the start of classes in August).

Selection is based on an application process that asks students to demonstrate imagination, creativity, maturity, and thoughtful reflection about how this grant will contribute to their learning, both now and in the future.
