Bio

At Berea College, Leslie Ortquist-Ahrens directs the Center for Teaching and Learning and serves as Director of Faculty Development. She is a tenured full professor of Comparative Literature. Prior to arriving at Berea in 2012, she founded a Center for Teaching and Learning at Otterbein College where she served and led for a decade. Active in educational development since 1998, she has was elected as president of the pre-eminent North American organization in the field, the POD Network (3-year term; presidential year 2015-16). Her areas of interest and expertise in educational development include faculty learning communities, group facilitation, collaborative learning, student-faculty pedagogical partnerships, and higher education coaching.
