Prior to joining the staff at Berea College, Center for Teaching and Learning Office Manager Katie Stewart worked as the Director of Animal Care and Control for Madison County Fiscal Court—a role that allowed her to serve her community, support much-needed rescue efforts across Kentucky and the Southeast, and effectively lead others in their personal and professional growth. As a first-generation college grad herself (EKU, 2019), she is devoted to the college’s mission and to its students, in whom she sees a lot of her younger self. Stewart is deeply committed to advancing Appalachia and its people, and she considers her work with the CTL a great opportunity. In her spare time, she continues to volunteer with local non-profit orgs and finds joy in serving her community.
