As Director of Teaching and Learning Assistant Programs, Lauren Hall works with TAs across campus, developing workshops and programming to support their professional and academic goals. Previously, Lauren taught first-year and upper-level writing courses and tutored in the writing centers at the University of Pittsburgh (MA, 2014; ABD, 2017) and University of Louisville (MA, 2011). At both universities, Lauren received accolades for her teaching, including being designated a Louisville “Faculty Favorite” by undergraduate students and winning Pitt’s Elizabeth Baranger Teaching Award. At Pitt, Lauren also led large group workshops and individual consultations for new teachers and TAs across the disciplines, sparking her passion for helping others develop as teacher-learners. Her areas of interest and excitement include undergraduate TA/tutor training, teaching personas, student-instructor collaboration, and inclusive writing pedagogies.
