Recycling

Here at Berea College, we pride ourselves in being mindful, practical, and responsible when it comes to taking care of ourselves and the planet. Recycling and composting are some of the ways we can reduce our environmental impact. For services outside normal business hours, charges may apply.

Berea College recycling services are exclusive to campus departments only. For more information on how to recycle or what Berea College is doing to prioritize sustainability, please visit the Office of Sustainability.

Additional Recycling

Information Systems and Services (IS&S) recycles electronic media (i.e., CD’s, disks, etc.) as well as electronic equipment by stripping usable parts from obsolete or inoperable equipment and then recycling the rest through an external vendor for processing.

The College also minimizes the amount of waste generated by building renovations by requiring contractors to recycle/reuse as much demolition and construction debris as possible.

Zero-Waste Events

We are happy to assist in ensuring your event creates as little waste as possible. Use the request so that Facilities Management, Catering, and the Office of Sustainability can help plan your zero-waste event. Requests must be made at least 10 business days prior to the event.
