Berea College

Berea College is an <a href="https://www.ncaa.org/sports/d3">NCAA Division III</a> school, offering student-athletes the opportunity to participate in 16 intercollegiate sports, in addition to cheerleading. As a member of the <a href="https://heartlandconf.org/">Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference</a>, <a href="https://bereaathletics.com">Berea’s athletic teams</a> compete in baseball, softball, basketball, cross country and track and field, golf, soccer, tennis and volleyball.

To Sign Up:

<li>Go to <a href="http://www.imleagues.com/berea/registration">IMLeagues Registration</a></li>
<li>Login using your MyBerea credentials</li>
<li>You will be sent an activation email</li>
<li>Once you activate your account, add a picture to your profile. Now you will have access to join or create a team!</li>
</ol>
Terminology:
<ul>
<li>Open League = No gender restrictions. Teams only need to meet the minimum number of required players.</li>
<li>Men’s &amp; Women’s League = Team must be comprised entirely of individuals who identify as male or female*</li>
<li>Co-Rec League = Teams comprised of a minimum required number of players who identify as males and females*</li>
</ul>
*Berea College recognizes gender is a fluid concept. If you have any questions about what league you can play in, please contact the Intramural Program.*

Hiking:
The <a href="https://forestryoutreach.berea.edu/services/the-forest/">Berea College Forest</a> is a great place to get out and enjoy nature! Berea is a certified Trail Town with multiple opportunities for hiking recreation. These hiking trails are open year-round and are maintained by the <a href="https://forestryoutreach.berea.edu">Berea College Forestry Department</a>.

Owsley Fork Reservoir:
Located about 8 miles from campus, <a href="https://www.bereaonline.com/uncategorized/a-guide-to-the-owsley-fork-lake-near-berea/">Owsley Fork Reservoir</a> provides a great place to <a href="https://www.getoutsideky.com">kayak, paddle-board (SUP), canoe</a>, hike, birdwatch and enjoy the beautiful landscape. This reservoir is kept free from motorboats and swimmers.

Berea also has many <a href="https://visitberea.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Berea_City_Trails.pdf">bicycle trails</a> for people to enjoy. Students can rent a bicycle from the <a href="https://www.berea.edu/sustainability/bereacollegebikeclub/">Bike Club</a> and community members can <a href="https://www.getoutsideky.com/book-now">rent an electric bike</a> from <a href="https://www.getoutsideky.com">Get Outside KY</a>.
