Biography
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), with professional interests in anxiety, depression, student athlete issues, interpersonal and relationship concerns, and college student success. In therapy I use a combination of interpersonal and cognitive behavioral therapy within a systems theory framework and I will often utilize a variety of mindfulness and distress tolerance interventions. Put another way, I believe that while the past has an influence on the lives of students, and provides a foundation for the development of both helpful and harmful behaviors, ultimately every student has the ability to succeed while learning to manage distress. My goal is to help you find the strategies that work best for you. I love learning about things people are passionate about (especially if I don’t know much about them), and could talk all day about sports and my family!
