Bio

I am Mandy Martinez, the new Nontraditional Student Program Associate. I am so excited to be back at Berea College! I graduated in May of 2024 with Bachelor of Arts in African and African American Studies and Peace and Social Justice. After I graduated, I worked at Girl Scouts of Ky’s Wilderness Road Council before starting my position here. I started my journey at the college in June of 2019 as part of the Bridge program. I married my husband, Devon Martinez, in February of 2021. I took a leave of absence during the Fall semester of 2021 to have my daughter, Miranda. Devon will graduate in December with a Bachelor of Arts in Education Studies with Elementary Certification, P-5. He intends to teach upper elementary at one of the schools in Berea. Miranda is three years old and attends the CDL, she likes Spidey and His Amazing Friends and dancing. While we have lived off-campus since 2021, we have attended many Non-Trad programs and several other campus events over the years. During my final year at Berea College, I served as treasurer of the NTSA. As the new advisor for the NTSA, I am stoked to work with this vital organization again! I am committing to providing a high level of support to Nontraditional students and fostering a community where everyone feels welcome.
