Please speak with your advisor prior to adding or dropping a class. Below are the important dates:
Fall
<ol>
<li>The deadline to add a class in the Fall 2024 term is August 27, 2024.</li>
<li>The deadline to drop a class without a W on your record is also August 27.</li>
<li>Students can drop a class with a W appearing on record until September 17.</li>
<li>From September 17 to October 22, dropping a class will result in a WP or WF on record.</li>
<li>Dropping a class after October 22 is not possible.</li>
<li>The last day to withdraw from the college without final grades being recorded is December 6.</li>

Spring
<ol>
<li>The deadline to add a class in the Spring 2024 term is January 14, 2024.</li>
<li>The deadline to drop a class without a W on your record is also January 14.</li>
<li>Students can drop a class with a W appearing on record until February 11.</li>
<li>From February 11 to March 14, dropping a class will result in a WP or WF on record.</li>
<li>Dropping a class after March 14 is not possible.</li>
<li>The last day to withdraw from the college without final grades being recorded is April 25.</li>

You can add and drop classes through the MyBerea portal or by completing an add/drop form. The add and drop forms for both international and domestic students can be found <a href="https://www.berea.edu/registrar/forms">here</a>.

How can I add or drop a class?

Please go to  the <a href="https://secure.berea.edu/secure/myberea/">MyBerea Student Portal</a> &gt; Academics Tab &gt; Grades &gt; Midterm Grades/Final Grades. If you are concerned about your performance in a specific class where grades have not yet been posted, please consult your syllabus or professor to get a rough idea of your current standing in the class.

How can I check my grades?

There are three reasons a student can be placed on Academic Probation at the end of any regular (non-Summer or May) term:
<ul>
<li>Failure to maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA in the major (once declared) or overall;</li>
<li>Not meeting the total credits identified in the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Chart;</li>
</ul>
Failure to satisfactorily complete the equivalent of three (3) credits in a regular term.

Why am I on Academic Probation?

How can I change my major, advisor, minor, or concentration?

Berea College offers three main categories of Financial Assistance: grants/scholarships that do not have to be repaid, loans that must be repaid, and earnings from work. What Scholarships are offered throughout the year? 

Student Life offers a transportation service for Berea College students called the “BC Express.”  This 12-passenger van operates during regular hours three days a week to provide transportation for students to local towns and businesses.

How do I get a ride somewhere? Where are the shuttles? Where do they go?

To know if you have a final exam in your class, it is best for you to contact your respective professors. To determine when you will be having you exam you can access it on the MyBerea portal&gt;Academic tabs&gt; Registrar&gt; Final Exam schedule where you will know the time for your exam.

How do I know if I have a final exam for my class? Do I have to stay? When is it?

Staying over breaks during the fall and spring semesters don’t have associated expenses, but if the student decides to stay over the Summer or Winter they will have to pay expenses for food and housing and other minor expenses.

If the student decided to stay over the Summer they can work or work and study. Summer classes are available by the time the fall registration is open. For more information on financial aid (finaid@berea.edu), housing (housing@berea.edu) and classes (sst@berea.edu) please contacted the respective department in the brackets. Students are not required to live on campus during the summer term if participating in labor or taking courses.

If I stay during Holidays and Breaks, what expenses will I have to pay? What about summer break and summer classes? 

You can sign up for clubs and other groups on campus through Berea Engage, which houses pages to all clubs and organizations on Berea&#8217;s campus.
