Rachel Roberts-Lakes is a proud graduate of Berea College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English in 1992.  She received a Master of Arts degree with emphases in British Literature and Rhetoric from Eastern Kentucky University.  As a graduate student, she had a few poems published in small, regional literary journals.  Rachel has 20 years of professional experience working in higher education including serving as the Development Director for WEKU Public Radio at Eastern Kentucky University.

At Berea, she has worked in the following areas prior to her current position with the Office of Strategic Initiatives: College Relations, Admissions, Academic Services, and the President’s Office.  Rachel also served on local non-profit boards including the Berea Children’s Center and the New Opportunity School for Women.  She is an avid reader and enjoys walking and hiking on the Berea College and City of Berea trails with her family and their aggressively-friendly dog.
